The Acknowledgement of Country mural that I illustrated for Warragamba Public School serves as a visual and creative reminder of the school’s commitment to respecting the traditional custodians of the land.

Collaborating closely with the school’s Aboriginal Education Officer, Jessica Farrell, a proud Aboriginal contemporary artist, I had the privilege of incorporating her ideas and samples of her artwork into the mural.
The mural celebrates the vibrant wildlife of the local area, featuring indigenous animals such as the Brush-tailed Rock Wallaby, the Stuttering Frog, Rosenberg’s Goanna, and the Yellow-tailed Black-Cockatoo against a backdrop of blue hues representing the Warragamba River.
Central to the mural is a depiction of a smoking ceremony, a traditional Aboriginal custom symbolising healing and cleansing, alongside an Acknowledgement of Country written by the local community. It was an honour to collaborate with Warragamba Public School on this project, which will be printed and installed on the school’s exterior brick wall, adjacent to their yarning circle.
The mural was endorsed and appropriately consulted with the school’s Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG).
