Bargo Public School has a fresh new mascot, designed to bring their Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) values to life! Based on the acronym BEST—Be Responsible, Effort, Smart Choices, and Team Player—the school’s behaviour expectations are now represented by a character that students can connect with and rally behind.
The journey to this new mascot was a collaborative and creative one. Bargo Public School ran a student competition to design their new mascot, and the top entries shared striking similarities, all reflecting elements of the school’s recently updated logo shape. Taking inspiration from these student concepts, I refined and developed the final character design, ensuring that the students’ vision remained at the heart of the project.
Throughout the process, I worked closely with the school community, incorporating student feedback to make sure the mascot truly resonated with them. Once the main character was finalised, I created variations to represent each of the BEST behaviour expectations, making the mascot a fully integrated part of the school’s PBL framework.
Now, Bargo Public School has a dynamic and engaging mascot that not only enhances school spirit but also reinforces positive behaviour in a fun and meaningful way. It was an absolute pleasure to bring the students’ ideas to life and create a character that will inspire them for years to come!
